This is a design work with oriental characteristics. It combines three representative elements of China: national color (Chinese red), national flower (peony), and national art (embroidery). This makes the work show an elegant Chinese style. When the box is opened, it looks like an ancient Chinese furniture screen. The moire frame shows an abstract mood, and the bottle is like a collection placed on the display shelf.
Continue readingOn July 19, 2017, PIY built a small building in Melbourne, Australia. It is a small castle assembled of 761 components, and they named it "Cells". The nodes are designed as the hand-turned thread tenon and straight tenon, which is summarized as "East Tenon & West Mortise". You will find their products, including variable shelves, study and shoe racks, etc., all of which are broken up and reassembled into an organism. And then, you will feel their desire to grow freely.

And it was changed the exposure to stir people's image. Lastly, it was trimmed from the rectangle to the square to eliminate waste and to constitute the balance of the light and people.

For example, the green color chip symbolizes a healthy sea forest, while the red color chip shows dark side of a sea filled with whale blood. Like this, the color chips introduced in each chapter are used to express the bright and dark side of the sea symbolically. This book was printed on soybean oil ink with low environmental pollution on 100g matte paper and thread bound to reduce bond usage.

Characters are split out and designed separately, each stroke standing for a different building block, in which pop art is endowed with childish fun. The flexibilities of pixels or building blocks will provide a wide range of applications and combinations. Building blocks and pixels are important graphics representing methods. This kind of illustration may help this product to achieve more effective communication with young consumers.
