Pepsi Culture Can Series

Think globally. Act locally. That is the mantra for the Pepsi Culture Can Series. This limited-edition packaging initiative realized unique, hyperlocal designs for markets all across the globe. This series was activated in over 10 countries and expressed through more than 40 unique designs. Our identity, pride, and sense of community were stronger than ever in 2019. The Pepsi Culture Can Series is a global platform designed around those things that bind us together.

Miniature Size Landscape

Landscape with grasses, mosses, flowers and other plants that looks a small world are spread at their feet. Photographer Katsuhiro Ohkuchi takes photography to make it look like a big world by using trick of the eye. An 1 inch tall dwarf goes on a journey around the small world. A dwarf eyes are the imaginary world of their childhood. It makes reminds them of their childhood.

Origami Letter

This is a messaging tool that uses origami to express emotion. Origami is the traditional Japanese craft of paper folding that began as a courtesy. In the past Japanese decorative paper was folded neatly for gift wrapping. This tool uses modern communication to allow people to create a digital origami letter then send it or print and fold it themselves, giving them two ways to enjoy their messages.

Future of Banking

Ms. Wu created this video for Julius Baer to explain the working method of their new digital product for their potential investor. From concepting, storyboard, style frames design to animation, she figured out how to visualize the difference between heavy workflow, digitalization and new era. She added visual metaphors to increase uniqueness. Creative thinking and techniques were utilized to create a video with a clear story narrative and visual attractions. This video showed the beautiful future the new digital product will bring.

The Omecara studio has defined a shape that evokes polished amber or a pebble found on the seashore, thus breaking with the traditional image of ambergris. The shape was designed to evoke solid and liquid, land and sea. The identity is characterized by the number 48, a lettering where the masculine square 4 and the feminine rounded 8 complement each other. The typographic treatment gives an impression of restful lightness, while the gold-colored hot stamping, in the same shade as the perfume, associates container and content. A subtle play of opposites and duality.

History of Chinese Character Design

The designer is also the author of this book. It is the first academic monograph to systematically explain the history of Chinese character design from the dimension of design. It presents a unique historical view of the evolution of Chinese characters and expands its research scope to all kinds of characters closely related to the whole Chinese character culture circle. The design of the book highlights the connection between linguistics and grammatology.
