Carbon Silicon Singularity

The work explores the moment when organic life encounters emerging silicon based forms of existence, including AI and algorithmic systems. Using the Singularity as a conceptual metaphor, it examines how this convergence reshapes ideas of life, identity, and ontology. Rather than presenting silicon as a replacement for the organic, the work emphasizes hybridization, coexistence, and mutual influence. At its core, it stages an evolving dialogue between carbon and silicon, imagining a speculative future shaped by new possibilities of embodiment.

Unheardible

D-bue is a special kind of music competition: every two years, selected students from German music academies present their individual artistic ideas in a series of concerts. Bloom has developed a customised communication concept for this special format. The focus is on a dynamic sound sculpture created from a 3D sound visualisation. In response to the widespread use of digital fonts as surface level assets, the publication repositions typography as a medium for constructing thought and communication. Each chapter presents an original type system through its conceptual premise, structural logic and applied context, showing how typographic decisions translate into form and use. The journal provides a framework for understanding type as an active component in branding and communication.

Beyond the Green Hills

Beyond the Green Hills is a renovation of a Huizhou style residence in Huangshan, Anhui Province, China. The design follows a light intervention approach. White walls and dark tiles are preserved, window proportions are adjusted, and eaves and lattice details are added. A glass volume in the courtyard links the buildings and brings in light, air and greenery. Split level lofts enrich the annex. Detailed surveying and 3D scanning supported a digital model used to plan structural changes. The total building area is 1,432 square metres.
