Digital fabrication allows each pen to be produced only when it is required, so surplus stock is avoided. The twisting form recalls figura serpentinata, a Renaissance technique that adds a spiral movement to the human figure to create a graceful and dynamic effect. The shape is intended to give visible form to intelligence and to ideas born from inspiration.
